Brandwatch announces the appointment of Bryan Tookey as its new Chief Operating Officer

Brandwatch has appointed Bryan Tookey as Chief Operations Officer , effective 12th April 2010. Tookey joins the social media monitoring company from Ask Jeeves, the search engine, where he was the European Operations Director.

Based with Brandwatch in Brighton, 35 year old Tookey, will be responsible for managing the smooth growth of Brandwatch. Commenting on his appointment, Bryan said: "I can't think of a more exciting role than helping organisations and individuals figure out and react to what people are saying about them in social media. I have watched Brandwatch set itself apart from its competitors by providing the best realtime coverage of the social web, the cleanest data and the finest support. I am proud to be joining this team and look forward to building on their already successful model."

Prior to his tenure with Ask, Bryan was Google's head of Sales Finance for European Partnerships and a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey, the management consultancy. Bryan holds a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University.
