Digital agency Essence (www.essence.co.uk) has been crowned Media Agency of the Year at the 2010 new media age (NMA) Effectiveness Awards. Alongside this accolade, Essence was also the winner in the Business-to-Business category for its development of the Google Exports Adviser.

The NMA Effectiveness Awards night is one of the most prestigious events in the digital media industry calendar. Held every year at the Grosvenor House Hotel, the awards recognise and celebrate the most effective work in the industry over the past year.

Media Agency of the Year was awarded to Essence for its financial performance, business wins and the success of key campaigns and projects it carried out for clients during the eligibility period. Specifically recognised for its work on campaigns for Google, Betfair, Expedia and eBay, Essence’s win reflects its recent growth and impressive client portfolio, which continues to expand.

The Business to Business category recognises business-facing projects that make the bulk of their revenue from transactions, are primarily intended as marketing vehicles, or form part of a company’s communications with its stakeholders. Essence’s winning development of the Google Exports Adviser (www.google.co.uk/intl/en/exportadviser/) was part of a collaboration between Google and government agency UK Trade and Investment. Designed and built by Essence to help UK businesses export their products, the widget also scooped the Revolution Special Award for Innovation earlier this year.
