Acquisition Provides Direct Presence in Market Following 5-Year Relationship with mPath

MELBOURNE, Australia (Aug. 24, 2010) – ExactTarget, a global provider of on-demand email marketing and interactive marketing solutions, launched ExactTarget Australia today, following the acquisition of its reseller mPath Global in Sydney and Melbourne.

The new operation will directly support the global technology and services needs of ExactTarget’s multinational clients and expands the company’s full suite of offerings to the more than 150 ExactTarget clients throughout Asia Pacific previously supported by mPath, including Fairfax Digital, Lend Lease, ING Australia, The Nine Network, Tennis Australia, Flight Centre Limited Corporate Division, Booktopia, CSIRO and CamerasDirect.com.au.

“Tremendous opportunity exists in Australia and the Asia Pacific region to help organizations deliver unmatched return on investment through highly targeted, multichannel communications,” said Scott Dorsey, co-founder and chief executive officer of ExactTarget. “Chris Gartlan and the mPath Global team bring an impressive client base and valuable market expertise that will accelerate the expansion of our global capabilities.”

mPath Global has served as the exclusive distributor of ExactTarget’s technology throughout Asia Pacific since 2005. Clients throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia previously served by mPath will now be served directly by ExactTarget’s teams in Sydney and Melbourne. The teams will also support marketing campaigns in Asia for ExactTarget clients headquartered in Europe and North America.

“We have taken great pride in helping marketers throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region achieve unparalleled results with ExactTarget,” said Chris Gartlan, chief executive and founder of mPath Global. “This transaction will provide our clients expanded resources to grow their email marketing and interactive marketing campaigns through direct access to ExactTarget’s technology and team of experts throughout Asia Pacific and around the globe.”

Gartlan will lead ExactTarget’s new Australian operation as managing director of ExactTarget Australia and will spearhead the company’s growth throughout the region. Gartlan, along with a team of sales, professional services and technical experts, began servicing both local and international clients from offices in Sydney and Melbourne today. All mPath employees have accepted positions with ExactTarget Australia.

Gartlan, who founded mPath in 2005 after serving in marketing roles across Asia Pacific with Hewlett-Packard and General Electric, will be joined by veteran Australia marketer Lee Hawksley who will serve as sales director of ExactTarget Australia. Prior to joining ExactTarget, Hawksley cofounded Australia-based email marketing provider Campaign Master in 2001. He has also served as managing director of Asia Pacific operations for Esker SA (ESK FP).

The acquisition of mPath Global is the third ExactTarget acquisition in the past year. In March ExactTarget announced the acquisition of San Francisco-based Twitter platform CoTweet, creating the industry’s first complete solution for managing communications across all interactive marketing channels including social media, email and mobile. In September, ExactTarget acquired U.K.-based Keymail Marketing and launched a new international division in London. Since the U.K. acquisition, the company has added more than 35 employees to its U.K. team and more than tripled U.K. sales.
