Digital agency Essence is opening its first office outside of the UK in New York, as it expands its operation to the USA.
The new office, which will open in September, is located close to Union Square. It will be headed up by Essence’s founding partner, Andrew Shebbeare, who will be supported by a number of existing staff members including Alan Smith, account director and Tiphaine Tarhan, senior account manager. As well as relocating team members from the London base, Essence plans to expand the New York office by appointing local US talent.
Essence is already delivering digital projects for a host of international organisations including Expedia, eBay and Betfair. The agency’s decision to cross the Atlantic evolved from its desire to deepen its commitment to US based teams, notably to support large scale media projects for Google in North America with the same level of dedication as it has in Europe over the last four years. By offering international clients and suppliers face-to-face time and capitalising on the benefits of working in the same time zone, Essence will cement its commitment to its clients already operating in the US.
