H&H Webranking, the established performance benchmark for European corporate web presences, has teamed with Magus ActiveStandards, the market-leading SaaS platform for enterprise website compliance, to provide expanded coverage of the key standards compliance issues impacting Europe’s top corporate websites.

Today’s websites need to meet an expanding range of online compliance criteria, including usability, accessibility and legal standards. Compliance with best-practice standards in these areas provides a key indicator of how effectively a website is doing its job.

H&H Webranking has measured web standards and accessibility compliance since 2001. This year the Magus ActiveStandards solution has enabled H&H to automate the review of a wide spectrum of core compliance criteria, across over 900 websites, providing quantifiable metrics for how well websites are performing.

"It is very important that our research be underpinned by state-of-the-art methodologies that accurately reflect the true performance of a website. By cooperating with Magus in this area we are able to scan for more criteria and with higher level of accuracy, enhancing the depth and quality of the research", says Staffan Lindgren, Executive partner Hallvarsson & Halvarsson.

"Having visibility on standards compliance enables companies to take control of their websites and achieve maximum return on their investment. We are delighted to be partnering with H&H on the Webranking to provide organisations with the information they need to create and maintain a world-class web presence", says Simon Lande, CEO, Magus.

In many countries today the level of accessibility support and subsequently web standards compliance is also regulated by law but there are still levels of improvement. According to H&H Webranking research 2010, 31 percent (157 of 500)* of the European top 500 companies have acceptable levels in this area.

The 2010 H&H Webranking report is available for purchase at www.webranking.eu.

* H&H Webranking 2010 measures web standards in three aspects; hyperlink usability, the use of WAI standards and the meta data quality. The combined score on all three are used when determine an acceptable level.
