Bristol, 23rd February, leading UK satellite and telecoms provider Avonline has teamed up with C-COM Satellite Systems Inc, a world leader in the development and deployment of satellite based mobile solution to delivering a cost effective mobile VPN solutions.
Utilising the iNetVu Mobile Platforms manufactured by C-COM, Avonline is delivering, their mobile VPN solution using the Satlynx satellite service throughout Europe.
Whilst other mobile VPN solutions exist in the market, the key breakthrough with the new Avonline mobile, VPN capable service is that it does not require additional (i.e. costly) VPN acceleration hardware, which is typically installed on both the mobile platform and at the head office. Commonly, this also means additional monthly charges for this level of VPN functionality.
The Avonline solution consists of the C-COM auto-pointing iNetVu satellite antenna and the Avonline supplied acceleration software, which is embedded into the satellite modem. Hence there is no need for external boxes or installation of software on client PCs. All software can be easily managed, fully controlled and updated over the air remotely from a central Network Management System and consequently, there is no conflict between the modem and the acceleration software.
Avonline have seen a stable, robust, integrated solution, which contrasts very strongly with many higher priced products in the market today. With a simple push of a button the iNetVu mobile antenna automatically locks onto the satellite, transmitting and receiving content into a vehicle or transportable structure in less than five minutes from deployment.
In addition to providing high speed Internet, email access and video conferencing, high resolution image transfer from analogue and IP cameras can also be delivered together with high quality VoIP services.
The transportable VPN solution is ideal for Government agencies, Police and Fire service command and control vehicles, hospitals with mobile treatment units, and local government mobile classrooms and libraries. Aid agencies and the media use this technology to communicate latest news and vital information back to headquarters.
With over 5,000 successful business satellite installations and 700 engineers throughout the UK, Avonline is one of the UK’s leading Satellite Broadband solutions providers. Customers include Sony, London Stock Exchange and Merrill Lynch.
C-COM’s iNetVu Mobile Antenna Systems enable reliable and cost-effective delivery of broadband Internet access to vehicles and transportable platforms with a simple Windows application, virtually anywhere in the world.
