LONDON, February 2011 – Chemistry Communications Group plc, currently under offer from the Publicis Group, is expanding its group offering with the launch of Chemistry Shopper, the UK’s first digital shopper marketing specialist.

Operating as a subsidiary of the Chemistry Group, Chemistry Shopper answers the rapidly growing demand from clients for expertise in harnessing digital technology to add value to the shopper journey, change behaviour in-store, while building brands through personal relevance.

Joe Garton, the Chemistry chairman and chief executive, said: “Traditionally digital agencies didn’t understand the shopper and shopper agencies didn’t get digital. At Chemistry we are experts in both and uniquely placed to bring the two together in one dynamic client offering”

Chemistry Shopper’s remit includes activating digital touch points in off-line retail sectors, including Grocery and High Street, as well as bringing shopper marketing techniques to on-line shopping.

Clients will benefit from a dynamic new approach called Screen & ShopTM, designed to harness today’s more dynamic shopper decision making. Screen & ShopTM uses shopper insight to identify the appropriate digital tools, from mobile apps and social media to NFC and touch screen signage, and then combines these with traditional store media to deliver highly relevant and more personal campaigns.

Jules MacIntyre joins as Planning Director of Chemistry Shopper and leads the division in partnership with Becky Groves, a Business Director at Chemistry; reuniting the pair who previously worked together at Dynamo.

MacIntyre joins from The Marketing Store, where she was Planning Director, strategically leading major FMCG accounts such as Britvic, as well as building an in-store retail approach for the Vodafone estate.

Groves has worked at Chemistry for four years as Client Services Director on both Diageo and Kraft. She has built the agency’s accounts across both the UK and globally, including the award-winning UK Baileys Lounge digital RM programme.

Becky Groves said: “We want to build a UK first reflecting the innovative approach that clients have come to expect from us.”

Jules MacIntyre said: “Digital is revolutionising the way we shop, even in traditional retail formats. I am delighted to join Chemistry and help clients take their shopper marketing to an exciting new level”
