Cimex has designed and built the new Human Genetics Commission’s website launched this week http://www.hgc.gov.uk

The Human Genetics Commission (HGC) is the UK Government’s advisory body on new developments in human genetics with a focus on the social, ethical and legal issues. The Commission has a mission to promote debate and to listen to what the public and stakeholders have to say.

“The brief was to design and build a site that appeals to a wide audience - comprising government, the media and the public. Therefore a priority was to ensure that the site is attractive, easy to navigate, universally accessible and its design sensitive to the important nature of the editorial content of which the site contains a massive volume,” explains David Hockin, Corporate Director at Cimex.

Cimex worked in partnership with the HGC who maintain the editorial content via a bespoke content management system built by Cimex. The agency was selected by the HGC project board via a tendering process involving agencies currently on the Department of Health’s web development roster.

Cimex is a preferred supplier to several Government rosters including the DfES, COi, GLA, DCMS DTi and DWP.
