The first Adestra and PPA Publishing Email Benchmarking Survey is now live at . We would like to encourage all publishing professionals to make their opinions known for the first such survey in the UK. Closing date is 7th October, so hurry!

This new bi-annual survey will provide the publishing industry with some key benchmarks and metrics for all types of publishers across the UK. All entrants will receive a complimentary copy of the full findings. The PPA is promoting the survey to its members; however it is open to all publishers.

Henry Hyder-Smith, MD at Adestra, says: “We are very proud to launch the UK’s first publishing email benchmarking survey together with the PPA. We work with many publishers for whom email is such a vital communications channel. So learning about the broader market is a great way for marketers to benchmark their metrics and look for improvements.”

The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete, yet it covers many key areas: not just open and click-through rates, but barriers to effective marketing, best practice techniques, social media integration and mobile.

Marius Cloete, Head of Research at the PPA, adds: “The use of email by publishers has grown dramatically in the last five years, underlining the fact that it is a key channel for distributing content. We are looking forward to finding out how publishers are using email and what barriers they encounter to effective email marketing.”

Rest assured that all answers will be treated in the strictest of confidence and will under no circumstances be linked back to any personal information provided, or be passed on to any third parties in accordance with the Market Research Society code of conduct and the Data Protection Act 1998. Entrants will also not be marketed to as a result of completing this survey unless they opt-in to receive communications.
