LONDON, UK – Venda, the world’s largest convergent cross-channel commerce provider, has announced that it has integrated eCommerce store and EPOS for Republic, the UK’s leading men’s and women’s multi-branded fashion retailer, to allow its customers to shop in-store, but have their goods delivered to their home.

This is a another significant milestone in the Convergent Commerce Journey for Venda clients.

Republic currently uses Venda Web Services and APIs to extend information and transactions between Venda-powered eCommerce and mCommerce stores running on the Venda Mobile Platform. The new implementation will enable Republic’s in-store Torex EPOS system pass information on a sale that is conducted in-store to its Venda-powered online store, so the transaction can be completed by its eCommerce fulfilment process. This means that sales can be completed even if a store is temporarily out of a product.

This innovative application of proven technology from Venda will bring retailers closer to convergent multi-channel commerce by allowing inventory to be maximised wherever it is located, regardless of which channel it is sold through. It will also allow the customers to further engage with the retailer across multiple touch points including mobile, tablet and social, giving a true multi-channel customer experience.

Jo Molineux, head of multi-channel at Republic, commented: “At Republic we are committed to providing the best shopping experience for our customers to ensure they have access to our products anytime, anywhere.”

“Venda’s Web Services and APIs will strategically enhance our multi-channel commerce offering by giving our valuable customers another way to enjoy shopping with Republic. They will now be able to enjoy browsing and shopping in-store but with the added advantage of a home delivery service.”

Eric Abensur, group CEO at Venda, added: “In this day and age, it’s important that retailers understand the needs of their customers and act accordingly. A recent report from PwC revealed that 20% of UK shoppers would prefer a home delivery when purchasing in-store and Republic has reacted to this by working with Venda to offer this innovative service to its customers.

“With Venda Web Services and APIs, we are working towards helping all retailers create a truly convergent multi-channel commerce that enhances its customers’ shopping experience. We are helping them to extend their commerce opportunities beyond the web, mobile and Facebook environments by allowing seamless integration with 3rd-party applications, widgets, interfaces and platforms. In effect, we are creating the endless aisle”.
