London – 6 February, 2011. hybris, a global leader in multichannel commerce solutions, has announced that TUI UK & Ireland, part of TUI Travel PLC, the UK-headquartered international travel company, is to support the roll-out of its extensive core reservation platform, system suite, sales and back office programme with the hybris MultiChannel Commerce Suite.

hybris will work with solutions integrator Portaltech Reply to implement the hybris Multichannel Suite which, as well as B2C Commerce, will deliver web, mobile, call centre and brochure applications, supporting all of TUI’s key digital channels.

TUI Travel operates in over 180 countries with more than 30 million customers in 27 source markets. It operates in four sectors: mainstream; accommodation & destinations; specialist & activity and emerging markets. TUI UK and Ireland embarked on a change in its business strategy under the ‘Phoenix programme’ two years ago. The key objective of the programme is to bring about business transformation through the implementation of agile, future proof systems that allow the company to improve its speed to market and its competitiveness across all channels.

TUI reviewed a range of platforms before selecting hybris primarily because the scope of the travel company’s multichannel requirements could be met by hybris’ complete multichannel vision and ability to deliver high-level, ongoing support. The Proof of Concept stage was also successful, and allowed TUI to build valuable and informative relationships with both hybris and Portaltech, one of hybris’ most experienced integration partners.

The first phase rollout is planned for Summer of 2012, and will begin with implementation of the hybris B2C Commerce suite. Chris Bayley, Phoenix Programme and IT Director for TUI UK&I at TUI, said: “The hybris platform is a key element of our ongoing Phoenix programme, which aims to significantly increase our online business, drive down the net costs of distribution for TUI and improve conversion rates.
