SapientNitro has promoted Nigel Vaz to senior vice president and managing director of UK from vice president and managing director of UK. Nigel will be responsible for SapientNitro’s business in the UK and Northern Europe (Sweden and Russia).

The move comes on the back of double digit revenue growth and business wins in the European market. Recent successes include winning multi-channel commerce work for Marks & Spencer and being named Agency of Record for Ladbrokes. As a member of Sapient’s Global Leadership Team, Vaz spearheaded the 2011 acquisition and integration of DAD, a leader in digital and direct marketing – with offices in London, Munich and Amsterdam. He also serves as a strategic advisor of many of SapientNitro’s retail, telecommunications, travel and utilities clients across Europe.

"Nigel fully embodies SapientNitro’s vision of unlocking brand value at the intersection of strategy, creativity and technology," said Sapient President and CEO Alan J. Herrick. "More than ever, clients are taking advantage of SapientNitro’s integrated capability in multi-channel marketing and commerce, and as these worlds continue to converge, our success is greatly enhanced by the focus and collaboration of dedicated leaders like Nigel."

Vaz has played a key role over the past decade in growing SapientNitro’s London presence into one of the largest SapientNitro offices and an industry recognized powerhouse. SapientNitro recently was named London’s Digital Agency of the Year by The Drum. Its Sneakerpedia campaign for Foot Locker – creating the world’s largest sneaker archive and first visual wiki – garnered 17 awards last year, including a Gold Cyber Lion at Cannes and Gold at Eurobest.

“Nigel has consistently contributed to SapientNitro’s success, which is a testament to his ability to grow a large and profitable business and establish global relationships – inside and outside the company,” added Dr. Christian Oversohl, SapientNitro’s managing director, Europe. “Nigel also has done an exemplary job in mentoring and coaching other successful leaders at SapientNitro through his collaborative leadership style and a firm commitment to leading by example.”
