Media Contacts has appointed Darren Goldie to the new role of Head of Performance as part of the agency’s recent restructure. The role has been designed to provide a single media delivery team to underpin the agency’s ‘Connected Thinking’ approach.

In Darren’s new role he will be responsible for a full team of digital specialists that manage paid search, natural search, affiliates, lead generation, data, reporting and analytics, direct display and ad operations. Media Contacts is putting Performance at the heart of their ‘Connected Thinking’ strategy to deliver more meaningful results for their clients as they believe all digital touch points need to be connected and measured through one consistent data management platform.

The performance team will be headed by Darren and his responsibility will be to provide clients with best in breed digital services, optimise channels, ensure best practice and excellence, increase value for clients by leveraging effectiveness across all digital channels as well as strong digital leadership.

His objective will be to ensure connected thinking between all of Media Contacts’ digital media units. The purpose of the team is primarily to define the measures of ‘performance’ as well as deliver it on behalf of their clients. For the first time Media Contacts is bringing all digital channels into one team with the sole purpose of improving performance for clients.

Darren has over 12 years of experience within the digital media and technology industry working client side as well as starting up his own technology businesses. Starting out as a software developer, Darren moved into affiliate technology in 2000. He then became the Head of UK division of Be Free, an affiliate technology provider where he managed over £1m of technology revenue and won numerous accounts including BA, and In 2004 he moved to increasing their market share by over 20% and launched Holland. In 2007 he founded a technology joint venture with Yahoo, which became the second largest distribution network in the UK.
