A new mobile application for iPhone and Android handsets has been developed and released by leading mobile marketing solutions provider KODIME on behalf of the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO).

The new app, now available for both iPhone and Android platforms, provides the LSO with a comprehensive solution to market, promote and sell discounted tickets for its student community, LSO Pulse.

The app combines concert listings with mobile ticketing and a loyalty scheme, rewarding registered users for their ticket purchases and social interactions such as sharing their chosen event with their friends on Facebook and Twitter.

Uniquely, the app also acts as the container for the mobile ticket, using the latest QR code technology to enable student users to easily gain access to LSO performances at venues such as the Barbican Centre and LSO St Luke’s.

It includes a survey module for concert reviews, enabling the LSO to gain valuable feedback from its student audience.

A complete smartphone proposition to find out about student concerts, incentivising viral marketing and enabling easy to use, affordable ticketing, the LSO Pulse app makes use of the mobile marketing channel to engage with and expand its student audience.

The app development is supported via the Digital Research & Development Fund for Arts and Culture, a partnership between the Arts Council England, Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and NESTA. The fund aims to support arts and cultural projects that harness digital technologies to connect with wider audiences and develop new business models.
