Sydney, 27th June 2012

Econsultancy, the leading source of independent advice and insight on best practice digital marketing and e-commerce, has named Jake Hird as their new ANZ Director of Research and Education.

Hird, Econsultancy’s former UK Senior Research Analyst, has relocated to the company’s Sydney office to head up their Australian operations of world-class research, content and training divisions.

His appointment further bolsters Econsultancy’s Australian team, where his role will see him predominately focusing on producing marketing insight, data and content at a local level, while also overseeing Australian public training programmes in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

The localised content and research will provide further advice and support to the rapidly growing base of 3,000+ members the company has in the region.

After a considerable amount of time in the industry, Hird is well versed in the practical and theoretical concepts of online marketing, having consistently delivered projects for various internationally-recognised brands and organisations for some seven years, as well recently completing a Masters Degree in Digital Marketing Communications.

Hird said:

"I’m excited to be able to help provide localised educational insight and training to help digital marketers - and the agencies that serve them - with best practice online marketing and content. Our aim is to serve the marketing community in Australia and help underpin the country’s development during its journey in becoming a world-class digital player".

Econsultancy’s Chief Operating Officer, Charlie Salter said:

“The key for us is to be able to offer a combination of our world-leading training and research services coupled with specific local content, reports, qualifications and insights. Jake’s appointment will allow us to focus on the Australian market to help digital marketers do their jobs better".
