Direct Line has appointed interactive media agency Tamar to optimise its website, www.directline.com one of the UK’s most popular financial websites. Tamar will optimise Direct Line’s motor, home, travel and pet insurance on leading search engines in the UK, as well as a full range of personal finance products.
Commenting on the selection Emma Holyer, Ecommerce Spokesperson at Direct Line said, ‘Direct Line is an innovative company: we were the first UK insurer to use the telephone as a direct channel and it’s important that we use the leading internet techniques. Tamar has proven credentials in optimising for financial services, and strong experience in the automotive sector. Hiring Tamar is part of our commitment to stay at the forefront of the online revolution.’
Neil McCarthy, Commercial Director of Tamar added: ‘Direct Line already receives a lot of enquiries via the internet. We will ensure Direct Line appears at the top of the listings on the major search engines including Google and MSN in order to further increase its traffic as well as attracting the visitors most likely to request an online insurance quote.’
Tamar is retained with immediate effect.
