Digital marketing agency, Fresh Egg, has unveiled a series of brand new courses on social media for business, aimed at three main audience groups: beginner, intermediate and advanced.

The first of the Social Media Foundations courses – An Introduction to Social Media – launches on Thursday 27 September from Fresh Egg’s Worthing HQ, with space for ten candidates on the day-long session.

The in-house training course will run from 10am-4.30pm and will be delivered by Fresh Egg’s head of social media, Paul Chaloner, who will teach the basics of social media for businesses, whether big or small.

Candidates will leave the interactive session having learnt the foundations of social media, feeling confident to return to their business with a clear understanding of how to create and implement a successful social media strategy.

Paul says: “Most of us have a personal presence on one or more social networks, be it Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, for example. However, social media use for business is entirely different. As with any good business strategy, you need to set objectives, understand the tactics for reaching and engaging with your audience and decide what metrics you will identify and evaluate to gauge success. Essentially, this is much more than just ‘playing on Facebook’!”

The course also includes practical workshops on objective setting in social media and how to respond effectively. There will also be an opportunity for candidates to discuss some of the social media issues they may be facing in their own roles with some of the brightest brains in the industry. The workshops will also be designed to quash some of the myths that surround the discipline, for example, that Facebook is only for young people.
