Susan Hallam is working in association with the Ulster Business School, Failte Ireland and the Theatre Forum to deliver Ireland's first accredited audience development programme, leading to the award of a Certificate in Management Practice by the University of Ulster.
Hallam will be teaching the digital marketing component of the Certificate, with participants getting hands on experience of search engine optimization, best practice web design, web analytics, social media marketing, email marketing and online advertising.
The six-month Certificate in Management programme, comprising seven module course, will take place in Dublin at the headquarters of Irish Times Training. It has been designed especially for experienced senior managers and arts directors who are ultimately responsible for marketing and audience development within their organisation.
Hallam comments, "This certificate provides a great opportunity for arts venues and festivals to strategically develop their business, and improve both their audience engagement and attendance figures."
The programme makes use of the Digital Arts Marketing Training (DAMT) an online distance learning programme commissioned by Arts Audiences. Created especially for the cultural sector, the DAMT toolbox consists of a series of videos and printed training materials, also all written by Hallam, and designed to enable arts organisations to access digital marketing training materials in a way which suits their particular needs.
