Complex content heavy website to be made more intuitive to use for multiple audiences
Digital agency, Design UK, has been appointed by Blackwell Publishing, the world’s leading society journal and books publisher, to redesign and redevelop the identity of its web sites www.blackwellpublishing.com and www.blackwell-synergy.com.
Design UK was appointed following a seven-way pitch and will harmonise the look and feel of Blackwell’s online presence across a range of subject, book and journal sub-sites to create more impact and a more coherent identity for the brand.
Blackwell publishes over 750 journals and 600 text and reference books annually, across a wide range of academic, medical, and professional subjects. Working with the huge range of content available via the website, Design UK’s core goal is to make each customer journey more intuitive and ensure that the online experience correlates with Blackwell’s innovative and scholarly reputation.
Working closely with Blackwell’s web development team a major part of Design UK’s brief will be to standardise site layout across thousands of pages whilst taking into consideration a range of stakeholders which include students, academics, medical professionals, bookstores and librarians. The resulting re-brand will be applied across Blackwell’s other marketing channels
