The website has been updated and tailored to provide fans with lots of unique content that cannot be found anywhere else. Engaging and simple to navigate around, the sites’ features include:

New Stats Section. Dynamic stats, provided by OPTA, highlight Wayne’s career stats, stats from the last match and a preview of the next game coming up. They animate accordingly, bringing the site to life.

New News Section. A brand new news section providing live and current content, keeping the site fresh with the latest updates.

New Improved Gallery. Renewed images divided into categories, enable the consumer to view the images in a simple and easy to use format.

New Homepage. Offers a striking image that is ever present rather than being replaced by a loading screen for the social feed. As a more visual form of navigation, and to create this feel of a destination page, some image thumbnails have been included for each of the key areas of the site. The top three news stories appear as an added feature.

Client Triple S Sports & Entertainment (Rooney’s Management Company) required a site to serve as a media hub for Rooney’s fan base, whilst also incorporating a commercial backdrop for his current principle sponsors, new ventures and future sponsorship opportunities. The sites primary objective is the consolidation of Rooney’s digital activity, serving as a portal for all his social media feeds including Twitter, Facebook and You Tube.

Lightmaker’s brief was to redesign the site and the creation of dynamic content therein. Visually it moves the site from being a landing site to one that has life and the creative demonstrates how innovative and engaging the website will be, whilst ensuring the site is optimised for viewing across multiple platforms. Whether the user is on their smart phone at a match or at home on the desktop the experience remains the same.

Use of the responsive design technique provides longevity and is an important feature of the website. The benefits of having a responsive site are enormous, as well as that all-important accessibility across multiple platforms – desktop, tablet and smart device. It offers the user a far better and consistent experience, prioritising content to the screen, enabling the user to view key content and carry out necessary tasks simply, wherever they are viewing the content.

It was essential that the site design maintained the integrity of the Wayne Rooney brand and his partnerships which include Manchester United, Nike and Harper Collins, whilst providing a great user experience for both consumer and commercial visitors alike.

Lightmaker has achieved this effectively through the use of a clean yet structured aesthetic and progressive build techniques.
