Latest Expedia brand to join Tradedoubler network

London – 18 March 2013, the online reservation specialist is expanding its affiliate marketing campaign strategy through Tradedoubler, the international performance marketing and technology company. Tradedoubler is launching affiliate programs in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain in a move which reflects the increasing reliance of consumers on Internet sites to research and book their travel.

Research1. shows that online travel agents (OTAs) are leading the surge in the growth of Europe’s online travel market, increasing bookings by nearly 22 per cent in contrast to supplier websites’ 15 per cent gain. It is estimated that OTAs outpaced the hotel bookings market by 14 per cent in 2012 and, although the pace of growth is expected to slow due to economic conditions, it is still expected to grow by nearly eight per cent in 2014.
