Nick Tong promoted to Client Services Director
Grainne O’Reilly, former Head of Digital at RAPP Media, joins as Business Director
Independent digital media agency agenda21, is restructuring its management team to service its growing client roster. Nick Tong is promoted to Client Services Director and Grainne O’Reilly is appointed from Rapp to work as Business Director reporting into Tong and working with Company Director, Lyndsey Best.
Responsible for the overall direction and of client accounts and management of agency operations, Tong will report into agenda21’s three managing partners, Nick Suckley, Pete Robins and Rhys Williams who founded the agency in 2005. He joined agenda21 last Summer after 2 ½ years as Head of Digital at RAPP Media where he oversaw all strategic and implementation output across all digital media channels for clients including RIAS Insurance, NSPCC, UNICEF, The Guardian and Bacardi, which involved working closely with partner agency agenda21. Tong has fifteen years of agency experience, ranging from Walker Media to Mediavest, across clients including Mars and Pedigree Masterfoods, Volkswagon, Redrow Plc, KFC and Barclays. In recent months he has helped grow the business managing senior relationships with clients such as Epson, DFDS and SHG (Specialist Holiday Group), as well as helping implement new internal processes at the agency and driving greater results from the leadership team.
Grainne O’Reilly brings fourteen years of agency experience to her new position as Business Director at agenda21, developed at agencies including Carat, Mindshare, Sapient Nitro and Vizeum across clients as diverse as Panasonic, Sky, Coca Cola, Unilever, Diageo, 20thCentury Fox, Dell, Nissan and the Open University. At agenda21 she will have overall responsibility for clients including Jurys Inn, Plan UK and Elemis.
Nick Suckley, managing partner at agenda21, explains, “We have very strong talent at agenda21 with highly experienced agency staff who have worked across all different types of clients and different media in a variety of agency environments. We have reorganised the management team in recognition of Nick Tong’s outstanding contribution to the business and set ourselves up to handle all our recent clients wins as well as being prepared for future growth over the coming years.”
Nick Tong Client Services Director, adds, “Over the past few months we have won a lot of new business and seen increasing demand for our data products as well as our search engine marketing and display media offering. I aim to lead the team in bringing all these together to deliver the most effective results for each individual client and ensure we harness the most relevant technology and skills for each campaign.”
Tong worked at Ad Connection as Head of Online for one year prior to joining RAPP. That followed 18 months as an Account Director at Walker Media, two-years at BLM Media and three years at MediaVest. He began his career at BBJ Media in 1998 after graduating from a degree in History at the University of London.
O’Reilly also worked as Head of Digital Media at RAPP Media and brings more technical skills to agenda21 after 18 months spent at Sapient Nitro as the strategic lead for dynamic creative projects, as well as managing site builds, flash creative and email best practice. Prior to that she worked at Stream:20 and also spent four years at Vizeum UK where she managed direct response campaigns for HBOS and content partnerships for the Pernod Ricard brands. This followed cross-channel offline communications planning at Mindshare Ireland, a stint at Ardmore Advertising and Marketing, four years at Carat Ireland and a year at Leo Burnetts in Dublin after graduating from De Montford University in 1995.
Company Director, Lyndsey Best spent four years at Mediacom after graduating from Bournemouth University with a BA in Marketing and Communications, before joining agenda21 as a Company Director in 2007 and returns from maternity leave this month. Former Business Director Helen Brown moves into a new business role.
