AOP was created in July 2002 to represent the interests of online publishers to the Government and industry and to drive standards and revenue across all sectors of online publishing.

In the UK, CNET Networks publishes the leading technology b2b websites ZDNet UK (www.zdnet.co.uk), silicon.com (www.silicon.com), and Builder UK (www.ukbuilder.com). In Q2 2005, the company will be launching into the consumer technology space with CNET.co.uk.
Tom Bureau said: “CNET Networks UK is excited to be joining the AOP. We can share our experiences of being part of a global online publisher, and work with the membership to grow the market for those that invest in online content. These are exciting times for CNET Networks in the UK – we are investing heavily in 2005 to extend our portfolio and launch new products into new areas.”
Alex White, Director of AOP, said: “AOP is delighted to welcome CNET Networks UK to the association. As one of the largest publishers of original content on the web, their established expertise in the online space will add value to the AOP.
