SEO agency Hallam Internet supported Loughborough based charity Rainbows Childrens' Hospice this weekend by participating in a Dragon Boat Race at Nottingham's Riverside Festival.
The event, organised in support of the Loughborough charity, saw 50 teams from across the East Midlands gather to race along the River Trent, including Hallam Internet's team of SEO professionals.
Speaking of the event, Hallam Internet's Managing Director Susan Hallam said: "Having provided SEO services in Loughborough and the surrounding areas since 1999, we have been aware of the great work done by Rainbows for many years. It was our pleasure to support their fundraising efforts through our participation in the Dragon Boat Race this weekend.
"We had a fantastic day and raced in three heats, achieving consistent times in each heat. The Dragon Boat racing was a lot of fun and we thoroughly enjoyed the Nottingham Riverside Festival. Rainbows is such a deserving charity which provides care and support for children, young people and their families. We've raced for Rainbows before and we look forward to doing so again in the future."
Hallam Internet's Dragon Boat Race team, aptly named 'Drag 'n' Drop as a nod to their online focus, achieved times of 62 seconds, 62 seconds and 62 seconds across three heats in a 30 metre dragon boat along a 200 metre course on the River Trent. Their team of ten, plus one drummer and one helm to steer the boat, comprised various members of the Hallam SEO team including SEO Manager Ben Wood and Digital Project Manager Jake Elliott. They competed against other local teams, including Tesco's Personnel Paddlers, Ready Willing and Abel from Abel Alarm Co Ltd, Aztec Dragons from Aztec Oils Ltd and Team Nottingham Audi.
The Nottingham Riverside Festival is an annual event which welcomes fairground rides, musicians, sports teams and an array of entertainment to the banks of the River Trent. This year, the Dragon Boat Race was organised in partnership by Gable Events and Rainbows Childrens' Hospice of Loughborough.
Rainbows provides care and support for children, young people and their families when facing life-limiting conditions.
