Integrated marketing and communications agency, Big Group has acquired London- based Mediarun Ltd, a specialist SEO and creative content agency, for an undisclosed sum.

The 14-strong Mediarun team specialises in search and creative content marketing across a range of diverse industry sectors including fashion, ecommerce, legal and technology. Established in 2005, the agency was behind the global infographic hit
‘Best Actress Oscar Dresses’, which featured in Vanity Fair, CNN, and style blogs and sites around the world.

The deal was signed on the 10th July 2014 between Big Group and the Swarup Family, owners of Mediarun, with the support of Alex Wares, Managing Director of Mediarun. The agreement adds additional search and content marketing capabilities to Big Group’s offering of award-winning marketing services.

“This is a new chapter in the 24-year history of Big Group and is a very exciting one. The expertise that Mediarun brings will allow the agency to offer a robust and broader service to clients in the UK and internationally,” commented Big Group CEO, Nick Scott.

Alex Wares, Mediarun’s Managing Director, will continue to oversee the management of the search and content team, which will relocate to Big Group's Holland Park offices next month. He said: “This is a very positive move for our agency and we believe that becoming part of a bigger, integrated agency offering will position us strongly in the marketplace.

“Bringing our respective teams together will allow us to further expand our services and reach into new markets. This is an exciting time for agencies with a content- based offering and we are looking forward to working closely with our Big colleagues.”
