Digital agency Zone has taken the top agency accolade at the BIMAs, the UK’s longest standing and most prestigious digital awards.

The agency was recognised by independent industry judges in the 31st annual awards on Thursday 15 September in London.

The accolade follows a year of stellar growth and success as Zone further consolidated its position as the UK’s leading independent digital agency. Revenues increased by 65 per cent, while staff swelled to a 225-strong team across offices in London, Bristol and a new base in Cologne. Meanwhile, the agency grew existing clients such as BT, Barratt Homes and Gatwick Airport as well as adding in UK and global briefs from Unilever, Pernod-Ricard, Stagecoach, Lloyds Banking Group, Maersk and the British Red Cross.
Notable work over the year has included further establishing the UK’s first ever Online school Field Trips for Tesco, creating the UK’s rail industry’s first service giving passengers direct access to the cheapest fares for South West Trains and launching twitter’s first ever branded ‘Moment’ for Unilever’s Persil social purpose campaign.

Jon Davie, chief executive of Zone, said: “We’re thrilled to be named agency of the year by BIMA. We’ve had a brilliant year helping global brands understand that digital is no longer optional: it’s mission critical to every business in every sector. It’s great to be recognised for something we are passionate about and love doing.”
