Digital agency Jellyfish has announced the appointment of Greg Allum as its head of social media.

An experienced client-side and agency marketer, Allum joins Jellyfish from Sony Electronics, where he held the title of head of social media and creative strategy. In this role, he was responsible for leading and delivering the brand’s multi-channel content strategy, including the iconic Sony Bravia commercials. Prior to this, he held roles at brands including British Gas and Legal & General.

As head of social media at Jellyfish, Allum is tasked with driving forward the agency’s social media offering and leading its growing team. Working across the agency’s client base, he will aim to deliver true brand and sales outcomes for clients, focusing on hard brand metrics. In his new role, Allum will report to Nick Fettiplace, global head of earned media, and Daniel Wilkinson, global head of paid media at Jellyfish.

Nick Fettiplace, global head of earned media, comments: “This is a key hire for Jellyfish as we look to strengthen and grow our proposition, in the UK and globally. The role of social media in reaching, nurturing, converting and retaining audiences continues to grow, bringing with it further opportunities for clients. Greg’s experience as a brand-side marketer gives him an added perspective and understanding of the challenges faced by today’s brands. We believe he will be an invaluable addition to our team.”

Greg Allum adds: “Jellyfish is a progressive, fast-growing and driven agency that is determined to have its own voice in a fragmented landscape of network and independent agencies. It’s great to be joining at such an exciting time as the agency continues to expand globally, fulfilling its ambition to become the world’s biggest boutique digital agency.”
