Kurt Geiger launches new e-commerce website

Leading luxury shoe and accessory retailer, Kurt Geiger is launching a new ecommerce website at www.kurtgeiger.com with design and information architecture of the site created by leading digital agency, Design UK.

Kurt Geiger is the number one luxury shoe retailer in the UK with the broadest portfolio of men’s and women’s designer brands together with its own brands Kurt Geiger, KG and Carvela. The business currently operates through an extensive network of over 100 department store concessions including Harrods, Selfridges, Liberty, Fenwick, House of Fraser and most recently, Le Printemps in Paris as well as 12 stand alone retail outlets.

The site’s design approach centres around ease of shopping, with the primary aim of maximising customer conversion online. The site also conveys Kurt Geiger as the home of desirable, must-have luxury whilst elegantly showing the range and scope of high-profile brands available online. Using straplines such as 'worship your feet' the creative approach builds on the Kurt Geiger philosophy that feet are a thing of beauty and should only be dressed in the best.

Design UK's approach to the site structure and layout is based around its 'more human than digital' philosophy, which is developed from a deep understanding of online customer experience. The site takes into account distinct customer psychologies such as the different shopping behaviours of men and women. As a result navigation has been split by gender, allowing bespoke targeting, messaging, offer and competition content. In addition, different stages of the buying process have been catered for with product suggestions by trends and brand as well as a sophisticated shoe configurator for those who know exactly what they are after.

Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger says, 'We chose Design UK to create the customer interface of the site because of its commitment to and understanding of our brand and customer base. The team grasped the concept of democratic luxury and have created a desirable shopping destination that is exclusive without alienating any of our customers'.

Design UK director Andy Farmer says 'We are delighted to be working with such a high-profile luxury retailer - particularly one that puts creativity and customer understanding at the forefront of its thinking. We are confident our experience of developing leading fashion and retail websites such as Hackett, Chloé and Diesel will result in a successful online retail business for Kurt Geiger.
