Sharp has appointed digital marketing agency swamp to completely redesign its UK web presence.

swamp won the Sharp account after a two-stage competitive pitch involving both Japanese and UK agencies.

The new Sharp.co.uk site will provide an improved service for Sharp’s customers and has been designed with intuitive navigation and increased functionality very much in mind. swamp has ensured that usability and accessibility is a key aspect but has also ensured the site is an attractive shop window for the Electronic giant’s products.

Sharp also intends to include its own advertising on the web site thereby informing visitors of initiatives such as its Champions League Sponsorship.

The site - at www.sharp.co.uk - is now live.

Simon Wadsworth at swamp commented,

“In the past decade the swamp team has worked on business-to-consumer projects for brands including Durex, Heinz, Tesco.com and Powergen. This means that we have become specialists in the B2C sector. Now that Sharp has tailored its online focus to aim at this market we can ensure that the new approach will be a success - and that it will improve the overall brand experience for Sharp’s customers”.

Howard Boardman IT Director at Sharp Electronics said,

“Sharp has pride in its products so the online environment in which we showcase them has to look first class - swamp has certainly produced designs that befit the Sharp brand”

swamp is also the main UK digital agency for both Heinz and Umbro.
