Building on its inaugural Career and Salary Survey in 2015, Econsultancy collaborated with sister brand Marketing Week again this year to survey 4,084 people across the marketing, digital, design and advertising industries. This is the industry’s most in-depth census of marketing careers and salaries in the UK and presents a robust look at workplace trends.

Are marketers paid fairly? Which is the best sector to work in? Is flexible working really a top priority for the industry? Has the gender pay gap improved? What route do people take to become marketers? Are employers satisfying marketers’ needs for professional and personal development? These are just some of the questions that are explored and answered in the annual survey, supported with commentary from leading marketers, workplace culture and diversity experts.

The report features salary league tables broken down by level of seniority, industry and gender, including year-on-year comparisons. It also explores key themes and trends including flexible working, the need for agnostic marketers and nurturing diversity.
