In one sentence, what is your product/service?

Postify allows your audience to create, customise and send their own real postcards from their photos.

The postcards are branded with your logo and marketing call-to-action (CTA) to anywhere in the world directly from your business’ Facebook page, website or a mobile app,.

What problem(s) does it solve?

From a consumer perspective, being limited to a selection of standard images, finding stamps and even remembering an address to send your postcard can be a real nuisance.

Postify solves these problems by bringing the postcard creation process into the 21st century from physical to digital, yet still retaining the joy of receiving a real postcard.

Rather than the same landmark images found with every street vendor,  Postify enables us to send our own photo memories capturing ‘that exact moment’ we write about (holiday selfie, anyone?), straight from our phone or a website with Postify taking care of the postage and printing.

From a business perspective, in a world full of digital clutter it’s increasingly common that brands helping to share a positive experience are being left out of their customers’ conversations. For example, when someone sends a photo of themselves by the pool with a cocktail, they’re not mentioning who they flew with, the hotel chain or even the tour operator.

With personal recommendations being the strongest form of marketing, Postify sees customers turn into temporary brand ambassadors, endorsing your service to their closest friends via the use of self-created postcards they value and treasure.

This allows any experience-creating business (even products or shops) to be a part of the user’s positive communications whilst also increasing brand awareness, endorsement and loyalty. In many ways, a postcard is the perfect ‘sponsored story’.

What are your immediate goals?

We’re about to raise awareness of ourselves here in the UK with our (completely free) mobile app partnership deals, allowing your business to gift their audience with thousands of free, company-branded postcards. Get in touch to hear more!

What were the biggest challenges involved in building the tech or your team?

Once our seed-funding was swiftly completed we were able to build our team with people we both personally know and most importantly those we trust.

Stockholm is a very competitive market in the tech world, but we have been lucky to attract smart people due to our very engaging products. Our early success with brands like Norwegian Airlines and Apollo has also been key.

How will the company make money?

Postify has a consumer-facing side which allows paying users to create and send their own postcard (via our mobile app, website or Facebook page),  however the majority of our revenue comes from working with brands of all types to gift a branded version of our Postify service to their audiences, whilst also implementing their logo, marketing CTA and URL.

Many brands we work with offer this to their audience for free, although some use it as a revenue driver too.

Who is in your team?

We’re a team of eight, seven in Sweden and one in the UK.  Entrepreneur & Postify CEO Fredrik Schoon is a serial entrepreneur previously based in Madrid before setting up Postify and some of you may browse head marketer @RyanGum’s blog from time to time. The rest of us can be seen here.

Where would you like to be in one, three and five years’ time?

We’ve got some exciting expansion plans being at the moment and will be focusing on developing our product to integrate within other companies’ software and code even easier than it currently is.

This fall we will release a few new interesting integrations and from 2015 we are looking to expand even further. In a couple of year’s time with this in fruition, we expect many thousands of companies around the world will have access to Postify like never before.

Other than your own, what are your favorite websites / apps / tools?

Besides Econsultancy we read a lot of marketing trade publications and being keen travellers ourselves (as you can tell we love postcards!) a lot of our favourite Apps are for just that, such as CityMaps2Go, Foodspotting, Pindrop and one we love for daily life, 1SecondEveryday.
