Ways of thinking about your customer’s path to purchase and how to encourage their progress.

Customer Experience (CX)

How you can develop a framework to improve your customer’s experience (with the aim of increasing sales volume, sales value and customer retention).

Attract & keep more customers

You’ll learn how to use the most effective digital marketing channels to get and keep customers (including search, email and affiliate marketing).

Selling your products

Learn the best ways to present your product to an online audience, when and how you should offer product recommendations.

Practical, hands-on exercises – there will be lots of group exercises designed to help you apply your new knowledge to realistic ecommerce situations.

Who should attend?

If you work in retail or ecommerce, there’s something in this course for you. However, since we cover so many topics, you’ll probably benefit most if you’ve been working within ecommerce for less than 3 years or want practical advice on selling more effectively online.

Laptop/Tablet is required – please bring a laptop/tablet for some of the hands-on exercises.

Ian Jindal is a consultant, publisher, and advisor on eCommerce in integrated retail, publishing, and broadcast. Clients include Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser, Camelot UK Lotteries and Westfield Shopping Town. A regular keynote speaker and conference chair, Ian co-founded InternetRetailing, the magazine, portal, and conference for Europe's leading retailers and multichannel retailers.

Previously he was Group E-commerce Director for Littlewoods Shop Direct Group where he grew online revenues to £405m pa. Before that, Ian was Head of Online Operations at the BBC, establishing the team that managed over 400 BBC websites and a non-executive Director of Business Link for London.

Ian co-founded the European eCommerce Forum, a private conference and 'think tank' to advance the art and craft of online selling.

Walking Directions

Shadwell DLR - 0.2 miles, 4min walk - Turn Right out of the station and head north on Watney Street, take the steps up to the market on your left hand side and walk through the market to Commercial Road and turn Left on Commercial Road and Hotel is at the entrance of Cavell Street


Shadwell Overground - 0.3 miles, 5min walk - Take Corwall Street exit of station, and turn right. Take the left hand turn onto Watney Street (past DLR station) and take the steps up to the market on your left hand side and walk through the market to Commercial Road, turn left on Commercial Road and Hotel is at the entrance of Cavell Street


Whitechapel Tube Station - 0.4 miles, 8 min walk - At the station exit, cross the road at traffic lights opposite. Walk straight ahead down East Mount Street towards hospital, turn left and follow building around to the right, past ambulance rank and private car park. Turn left onto Stepney way then turn right onto Cavell Street. Follow Cavell Street to end of the road and hotel will be situated on the right.
