This growth was behind the optimism shown by the agencies, with 77% saying they were “very optimistic” for their growth for the next 12 months and not a single agency reporting a lack of optimism.

Over 200 agencies from across the UK expressed an interest in this year’s report. This year the minimum fee income to make the list was £3,459,989 – up from £3,351,000 in last year’s version of the report.

With new entrants to the digital scene, competition was especially tough with some agencies slipping from the table.

The research also found that creative activities drive the largest share of average agency fee income; it accounted for an average of 21% of fees for agencies who work in this area. This was followed by technical development (19%).

MediaCom was listed as the top media agency.

In addition, six agencies were chosen as our ‘ones to watch’. These are Mediaworks, True Digital, Building Blocks, 4Ps Marketing, BLOOM Worldwide and Proof Digital.
