Congratulations to online lead generation specialist Clash-Media
£2 million following an investment by venture capital firm MMC Ventures.
Clash-Media, whose employees were also celebrating its first birthday at a party in London last night, will use the money to recruit staff in order to build its expanding teams in the UK and other markets, including the United States and Scandinavia.
The company was founded in March last year by Simon Wajcenburg. He was also the founder of AIM-listed TMN Media.
He said: “Online lead generation has become increasingly important as more and more consumers are using phone and postal preference services as blanket opt outs from traditional direct marketing campaigns.
“The investment from MMC will allow us to expand our leadership in this important market at a time of massive growth when we expect the UK online lead generation market to double by 2009.”
Ben Richardson, Investment Director at MMC Ventures, said. “Online marketing continues to grow exponentially both in the UK and abroad. With such a strong management team, Clash-Media is in an excellent position to capitalise on this opportunity.”
Clash-Media uses a variety of online marketing strategies including SEO, email marketing and display advertising to obtain qualified leads for businesses.
The Online Lead Generation market is much more established in the US but has been slower to take off in the UK. There are strong signs that European markets are catching up.
Earlier this year, E-consultancy published an Online Lead Generation Report which was sponsored by Clash-Media.
Highlights from the findings include:
-) 82% of online marketers see online lead generation as a growth area.
-) Three-quarters of respondents (74%) working for multi-channel organisations said that their companies are generating leads online with the intention of converting them offline.
-) Only 44% of marketers say that their organisations are effectively exploiting online lead generation as a way of growing their B2C business.
