PUNCH, where marketing meets the new creative, is just one of the events at the festival, and professional viner, Ian Padgham is one of the many speakers.

Here’s an example of the Vine majesty Ian is capable of. You can check out many more on his website.

A professional vine – much better than ours

Myself and Matt Owen, Econsultancy Head of Social, have been, quite frankly, titting about making our own vines, which you can find at the bottom of this post.

If you think you can do better than us (we barely believe it possible) then why not have a bash. If you plan on winning, here are some tips from Ian Padgham

So, the rules and the prizes on offer:

Rules

1. Make a vine and share it on Twitter with the hashtag #FOM13

2. Your vine must include reference to the Festival of Marketing or one of its larger conferences – JUMP, FUNNEL, PUNCH, CRUNCH. The respective themes of these are broadly customer experience, sales, creative and data. If you’d like, you can simply include one of these words, or the festival logo in your vine (see below).

3. The festival takes place October 8-10th, so get your vines in asap. We’ll be announcing winners and honourable mentions on the Econsultancy blog on Friday 27th Sept, with possibly a few more the week after.

4. That’s it! Try not to do anything dangerous or rude. We haven’t used sound in our vines, but feel free to. Use humour, pathos, invention, drama, whatever comes to mind.

Prizes

We’re giving away five festival passes (usually £495), granting access to JUMP, FUNNEL, PUNCH and CRUNCH, to the best vine makers.

There’ll also be some tickets to the festival party, Marketing Frenzy (usually £50), held at Fabric and featuring Beardyman, which we’ll dish out to honourable mentions.
