Reevoo provides reviews for retailers like Currys and Tesco, and launched its own website last year. It has recently had a revamp, including a new homepage and updated product pages.

Site search used by 5% of visitors - study

While a relatively small number of visitors are using the search function on websites, conversion rates through site search are up to 50% higher than the average.

This is the verdict of a Screen Pages study into 39 of its clients' websites, using Google Analytics data. The stats cover almost 3m site visits over a three month period.

Zavvi makes things clearer for customers

Thanks to the collapse of Woolworth's wholesale arm EUK, retailer Zavvi was forced to suspend much of its web sales earlier this week.

Chris Lake criticised Zavvi on this blog for the way in which it handled this news online, just putting a message on the homepage and leaving the rest of the site as it was.

Having just had a look at the Zavvi website, it seems someone at the company has taken note, as there has been a big improvement..

The BBC is still not sure how to link out

The BBC has released the results of its experiment with in-text links,  and it seems the corporation is still not sure how to deal with the issue of linking out from its articles.

The BBC Internet Blog reports on the results of the experiment, which used the Apture service to add links to the text of articles. 90% of the feedback received during the two week trial.
