74% of small businesses have yet to design a mobile-optimised version of their website, while just one in ten believe this is necessary.
The findings come from a survey of small business owners by Serif, and suggests that they have yet to latch on to the growth of mobile internet.
By launching mobile optimised versions, businesses could ensure that potential customers can more easily and quickly find the information they need, and gain a real advantage over rivals.
Mobile search has grown by 500% over the past two years, while 85% of UK mobile users seek local information on their smartphone.

Let's start at the easiest point: mobile search. Most SMBs view tech as a cost-center. But viewing it as a new-business generator, you win. At mTrax (http://mtrax.com) we're setting up SMBs exclusively in mobile search, and even there, only with click-to-call links. The results are inbound calls from qualified customers, at an ROI that makes sense. Think about it. What better prospect than someone who has pulled out a phone, and searched for your services locally? Say they've searched for a plumber, or a podiatrist. That's someone who is ready, willing, and able to buy right now.
