So, after reading through more than 700 entries, we have decided upon a shortlist of 189 for our Digitals Awards.
All entries were judged during the first phase by Econsultancy's internal staff then sent to our external judges, comprised of some of the finest minds in digital marketing and ecommerce.
The judges work at firms such as John Lewis, Sky, Selfridges, BBC, Oxfam and more (You can see the full list here).
There have been some really fantastic things going on in digital in the past year or so, and the shortlist represents real innovation and best practice in our industry.
Well done to all who have been shortlisted, and commiserations to the others who just missed out (some by very narrow margins).

As deputy editor at Econsultancy I’m occasionally called upon to help shortlist the many excellent entries we receive for our annual awards, The Digitals.
The consistently high quality of the entries makes it a very difficult job, but it’s made even trickier when submissions are written in such a way that it’s difficult to understand what the campaign actually achieved.
That’s my diplomatic way of saying that some of the entries we receive are poorly written.
And obviously if the judges struggle to comprehend a campaign’s objectives and outcomes, it will negatively impact it’s chances of winning any accolades.
If all businesses are becoming publishers, then media companies should be ideally placed to lead the content marketing revolution, and judging by these Media and Entertainment entries from The Digitals, they aren't going to disappoint.
